The monodrama "Fetishist" by Michel Tournier aims to present to us the twisted reality of a life that, being turned upside down, due to the difficult conditions of the wars of the past, personal unsuccessful struggles, the pressure of social values and the imposed reality - it shows us the only possibility for the existence of a man, who, although lost in reality, he lives perfectly in his imaginary world and manages to find satisfaction in life, where he tries to create his own happiness despite all the inconveniences that follow him.
This is an absurd story about a not-so-ordinary man who tries to deal with all the challenges throughout his not-so-simple life, full of dark urges and unexpected pleasures, and shows us his powerlessness in the face of so-called fate, as something that not everyone possesses, and the difficulties in the lives of those who possess it.
This tragicomic character, doomed to failure from the beginning, leads us through his deep fantasy, which could be said to have created a wonderful life, if fate itself were not involved in it as a final and unchanging constant in all possible variants of existence.
